- Large E&P operator expands deployment of ZerO2 oxygen removal system
- ZerO2 units have no moving parts and help eliminate the need to flare by removing oxygen to capture 100% of tank vapor flash gas
DENVER, CO (May 09, 2019) – EcoVapor Recovery Systems, LLC today announced that it has commissioned Four new E1200 model ZerO2™ oxygen removal units across multiple locations in the Permian Basin of west Texas. The production pads are operated by a large, globally integrated oil and gas producer, and these new units represent a repeat order and an expansion of the operator’s ZerO2 fleet. The new commissioned units have nameplate processing capacity of 1200 MMSCF/Day. The E1200 is currently the largest ZerO2 unit.
ZerO2 units use proprietary technology to remove oxygen from the production stream, enabling operators to capture and sell high-Btu content tank vapor flash gas, lowering tank pressures in the process. As a result, the ZerO2 system significantly reduces, and often eliminates, the need to flare or combust gas.
ZerO2 units have no moving parts, reducing repair and maintenance needs which minimizes the need to have people travel to and from well sites so equipped. For the two years ended August 2018, the ZerO2 fleet has accumulated an impressive track record of reliability, typically 100% uptime, and not one production site using the solution has experienced unexpected shut-ins as a result of high oxygen levels.
“Market demand for ZerO2 is growing as operators look for ways to comply with increasingly stringent gas capture and emissions regulations without sacrificing economic returns. The E1200 units placed in service are our newest and largest products and bolt-on downstream of any vapor recovery units already on site,” Mike McMahon, Chief Executive Officer, said. “In addition, I am proud of the performance of our field teams. They have the experience and skill needed to install, startup and maintain ZerO2 units in an efficient and safe manner, minimizing downtime and ensuring success.”
