This video demonstrates in real-time the moments just after turning on a ZerO2, which turns off the flare. Now the operator sells the BTU-rich tank vapors it used to burn off.
Sometimes, you just have to see it to believe it.
An operator of a large production pad in the Eagle Ford shale play approached us to solve their flaring problem. At low pressures in the oil storage tanks, entrained oxygen was coming out of solution and contaminating the tank vapors accumulating in the tank headspace. Since the oxygen levels routinely rose to levels that exceeded pipeline specifications, the operator was required to flare the BTU-rich tank vapors, resulting in lost revenue and increased emissions of NOx and VOC.
This video demonstrates in real-time what happens to the flare in the moments just after turning on a newly installed ZerO2 at the well site.
ZerO2 turns on, and flare goes out.
Results
Our ZerO2 total vapor capture solution is delivering these benefits to the operator:
- No more routine flaring.
- Improved environmental performance.
- Increased revenue from sale of valuable tank vapors that would have otherwise been flared.
- Simplified operations by removing vapor recovery towers (VRTs) and installing robust ZerO2 units that have no moving parts and much higher uptime (99.8%+)
- Improved safely profile due to lower storage tank pressures.
These benefits will continue throughout the life of the production pad.
As the wells age and natural production declines reduce tank vapor volumes, smaller ZerO2 units will be exchanged for the larger ones (which can then be redeployed to newer sites) to ensure continued profitable operation.
