A large independent producer in the Uinta Basin recently ordered several E300 model ZerO2 oxygen removal units to eliminate tank flaring.
These are the first EcoVapor units to be deployed to the Uinta Basin, further expanding the footprint of our breakthrough technology. The operator is a new EcoVapor customer.

The Problem
The operator wanted to eliminate tank flaring on two production pads. Produced natural gas is sold and taken off lease via a gathering system while the oil is stored in tank batteries. As the liquids sit in storage tanks, entrained oxygen comes out of solution and quickly rises to levels that exceed pipeline specification, presenting a serious hazard to both pipeline infrastructure and people. As a result, the tank vapors had to be flared.
Flaring the BTU-rich tank vapors not only generates additional emissions, but it also wastes what is typically the most valuable gas stream on site.
Tank flaring had become routine on the production pads and the operator needed a solution to eliminate the practice to both reduce emissions and capture the value of the vapor.
Converting Waste to Revenue – Putting Out the Tank Flare
In late December, we started up the first E300 and a day later a second unit. Each installation took less than a day and were completed without any interruptions to normal operations or downtime.
Once online, the units were working reliably and 100% of the tank vapor gas was being captured and sold.
Now, the producer is selling approximately 300 MCF of tank vapor gas having 2000 BTU of energy content per day, and the tank flares are used only in emergency situations.
Jason Roe, EcoVapor CEO said, “We are excited about entering the Uinta Basin and expanding the EcoVapor footprint into an important new geographic market. ZerO2 technology is one of the few solutions that reduces emissions in a material way and simultaneously improves profitability. Our solutions do not force operators to choose between good environmental performance and financial results, with EcoVapor they can do both.”
