- EcoVapor introduces the Emissions Scout – a mobile and effective method for gathering operating data on environmental conditions at tank batteries.
- Allows operators to assess and baseline actual site conditions as a part of emissions planning.
- Emissions Scout is the latest innovation EcoVapor has brought to market, solidifying its position as the leader in solutions for eliminating tank emissions and flaring
DENVER, CO (November 17, 2021) – EcoVapor Recovery Systems, the leader in solutions to eliminate tank gas flaring and venting, introduced today the Emissions Scout for accurately measuring tank battery conditions.
This new offering comes at a time when oil and gas operators are seeking to evaluate alternatives for achieving net-zero emissions and eliminating the practice of routinely flaring tank vapor gas.
About Emissions Scout
Emissions Scout is a skid mounted unit that continuously monitors tank pressure, vapor gas quality and flare volumes. Instrumentation includes pressure sensors at the tank battery, metering of the tank flare line, and continuous measurements of oxygen content of tank vapor gas, tank pressures and flare line volumes.
Operating data is collected continuously and uploaded every two minutes, allowing for near real-time monitoring. Unlike typical site observations, the Scout allows operators to understand the variability and range of conditions over time – critical information for evaluating and developing emission performance plans.
Emissions Scout is solar powered for ease of installation and operation. With a footprint of approximately 4.8 x 4.2 feet, the skid is portable and easy to install. Importantly, there is no need to modify existing equipment or operational processes to install and operate.
Accurate Data for Measuring and Managing Emissions and Flaring
Addressing environmental performance at tank batteries is a key element for making significant reductions in emissions and flaring. A common difficulty for operators is that plans are based on estimates or spot measurements made at the well site or production facility.
Emissions Scout provides operators with the accurate and reliable information they need to evaluate alternatives effectively, right-size equipment to specific scenarios and make meaningful and actual reductions in emissions and eliminate the routine flaring of tank vapor gas.
Benefits include accurate data for evaluating emissions reduction strategies, reliable data based on actual site conditions, information for designing tank vapor management systems that put out the flare, and hard data for establishing a baseline for measuring and managing environmental performance.
As a service, Emissions Scout is priced to cover the nominal costs of transport and installation to encourage operators to take advantage of the benefits of an accurate understanding of tank battery emissions sources, volumes and flaring.
“The value proposition of Emissions Scout is simple, helping operators assess how they can profitably reduce their emissions from their tanks. If you don’t measure actual emissions, you simply can’t manage them,” said Jason Roe, EcoVapor CEO. “Emissions Scout is our latest innovation and designed to help oil and gas operators get an accurate picture of their tank battery conditions over time. Without this data, producers are at risk of implementing expensive emissions strategies that fail to deliver on performance expectations. For a small fee, Emissions Scout can help them substantially reduce the risk of making a costly error and choose a solution that puts out the tank flare for good.”
