EcoVapor, a DNOW company and leader in oxygen removal (deoxo) technology for biomethane and Renewable Natural Gas (“RNG”) markets, has completed commissioning of its oxygen removal (deoxo) equipment at a new dairy project in Michigan.
EcoVapor technicians recently completed installation and commissioning of a ZerO2 E300 deoxo unit at a dairy farm that will produce renewable natural gas (RNG) from animal waste. A drying system to remove water and a chiller to cool the gas was also supplied. Agricultural gas-to-energy operations capture raw methane emitted from the decomposition of organic materials in a large containment vessel called a digester, then upgrade the gas product to commercial pipeline specifications so it can be sold as valuable RNG, instead of being flared or vented to the atmosphere creating emissions. Because raw biogas typically contains a variety of contaminants it must be purified, or upgraded, before it can be injected into commercial pipelines. EcoVapor ZerO2 technology removes oxygen, a common biogas contaminant, as part of the overall upgrading process.
EcoVapor was selected to provide oxygen-free, dry gas in one of the principal upgrading processes. The company’s proven deoxo technology helps RNG operators meet the most stringent pipeline specifications, and the modularity of its product line allows the flexibility to right-size the equipment to a project’s needs. EcoVapor also provides field service and support to both oil and gas and biogas clients.
“We are pleased to have been selected to supply our leading oxygen removal technology,” said EcoVapor Vice President Jason Roe. “Our ZerO2 solution has been working reliably with leading oil and gas producers for over a decade, and we are excited to play a role in enabling the supply of gas with a negative carbon footprint. We are proud of our team that helped to make this happen.”
