A “water midstream” operator in the Permian Basin adopted EcoVapor’s ZerO2 solution to improve the safety of its water disposal facilities. The customer develops and manages infrastructure for handling produced water from oil and gas production sites.
In the recent past, lightning provided an ignition source for the vapors in the atmospheric storage tanks and resulted in significant damage to one of the company’s SWD facilities. Although no injuries were sustained to workers, the incident prompted the operator to adopt the ZerO2 technology to reduce the threat to personnel and facilities.
In this novel application of ZerO2 technology, the unit produces an oxygen-free safety blanket within the storage tanks. By removing one of the requirements for combustion, ZerO2 has significantly reduced the risk to water storage facility assets and workers from potential explosions.
